Never underestimate the weird and wacky world of Japanese marketing, especially when it comes to KFC. The fried-chicken fast food chain is wildly popular in the land of the rising sun. They dress up KFC creator and mascot Colonel Sanders in all manner of zany outfits, and now they are giving away fried chicken-themed accessories for all your tech needs. My personal favorite? The massive, deep-fried drumstick that is actually an iPhone 5s case.

This is an actual advertisement, via CNET. A Japanese women sips away at her beverage while casually holding a massive piece of fried chicken to her ear. A cute, animated Colonel Sanders apparently finds this hilarious, and is shown rolling on the floor laughing. Japan!

KFC is giving the case away via a Twitter giveaway, much in the same way it did with this equally wacky fried chicken keyboard and mouse. Just look at that keyboard! How could you type on keys like that? Your fingers would be bleeding after a day's work. Not practical at all, though the mouse looks like it might be comfy, in a weird way.

The iPhone case, however, is perfectly practical. It looks like the case simply snaps apart so the phone can be inserted. Just look how much easier it would be to talk on the phone by holding a drumstick up to your ear. All you have to do is firmly grasp the bone-part of the leg and off you go. Sure, it might be a little top heavy and you might receive a few odd glances as you talk into a gigantic piece of fried chicken, but it's well worth it.

If the iPhone case somehow isn't appealing to you, KFC is also giving away a giant plush drumstick with an opening for you to stick your head into, perfect for napping in public places. People may initally be confused by the pillow, but just tell them you won it in a giveaway. They will understand.

And all these products aren't even actual things people can eat. Japan has plenty of strange edible products too, like these two black hamburgers available for a limited time at Japanese Burger King and McDonald's locations. The "kuro" burger at Burger King features black charcoal cheese and squid ink ketchup. Keep on being crazy, Japan. We wouldn't have it any other way.
