In a bid to bridge Mass Effect: Andromeda to the original video game trilogy, four Mass Effect novels will soon hit store shelves.

For publishing by Titan Books, the said novels will serve as prequel and sequels to various events within the video games. It is worth mentioning that the books' plots are different from those of the original games.

"The novels will act as prequel and sequels to the events in the games and will become part of the overarching Mass Effect saga," reads the description to the series [PDF]. "They will focus on key characters and answer many questions fans have been asking."

While Titan Books does not go into details as to when exactly the books will come out, what we know is that the first novel, titled Mass Effect: Andromeda Initiative, will be rolled out in August this year. This first book is written by N. K. Jemsin, who also wrote The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms.

The second and third books are slated to be pushed out by March and September next year. The authors and titles of these novels, however, are yet to be announced. The last novel will see the light of day in March 2018 and will be written by Mac Walters, Mass Effect's creative director.

Mass Effect: Andromeda's Release Date

With regard to the title's official release date, it is said to be released in March next year for the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

Initially, Andromeda was supposed to be rolled out in 2016. Last May, however, BioWare said that the video game is now set for an early 2017 release date. The reason behind the postponement of the game's release is to make certain that the developer can "deliver everything the game can be and should be."

Other Book Titles In The Works

In the meantime, Titan Books is also preparing the Dishonored and Deus Ex books:

Dishonored: The Corroded Man — written by Adam Christopher, this book is said to be released next month, with the two next books scheduled to come out in February and June next year.

Deus Ex: Black Light — this book will arrive in stores on Aug. 23.

At any rate, it is good to know that Titan Books is cooking a book series so as to fill in the story between Andromeda and the original games.
