McDonald's locations in Hong Kong are celebrating the heroes of DC's Justice League, and first up with his own special burger is Batman.

Dubbed the "Diner Double Beef" burger, the meaty monstrosity looks like it has very little to actually do with Batman. For starters, it isn't black. Black burgers are all the rage these days, but if any promotional food item needed to be black, it is the one with Batman's name attached to it. The burger also comes with a serving of "squeezy cheesy fries." That sounds a little disgusting, and once again, is in no way Batman related. You don't craft your body into the ultimate machine of vengeance by filling up with any food that starts with "squeezy cheesy." Check out the ad:

So what does this burger have to do with Batman? Well, it does feature a really badass box that looks like it has Batman's face on the top. Aside from that, maybe after a long night of fighting crime Batman goes down to his local diner to order one of these bad boys. Keeping the streets safe burns a lot of calories, which is good, because this burger is likely full of them.

The burger itself features two patties, an egg, cheese, onion and two types of sauce. One looks like a gravy of some sort, but we have no idea what the other sauce is. Then again, seeing as Batman is always striving to be in the utmost physical shape, it isn't likely Bruce Wayne would ever step foot near this burger.

Seriously, why isn't this burger black? Japanese Burger King's and McDonald's have black burgers, and they aren't even celebrating Batman! Oh well. Since Hong Kong McDonald's are celebrating the entirety of the Justice League, maybe future burgers for Superman and Wonder Woman will do a better job of representing their respective characters. But probably not.

It's still not exactly clear why Justice League is being celebrated. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is still a ways off, as is the eventual Justice League film. Maybe they are celebrating the recent announcement of a new Justice League animated mini-series from Bruce Timm. While that would be awesome, it's doubtful.

If you haven't gotten your strange burger fix, why not take a look at this Pumpkin Spice hamburger. If that is too normal for you, you could also try this burger designed to taste like human flesh, in honor of The Walking Dead's return to television. McDonald's take note: this is how a promotional burger is supposed to be made. Maybe next time they could go with a literal bat burger with guano guacamole on top.
