Star Wars Battlefront added new content in the form of the Bespin DLC in June for season pass owners, with non-season pass owners able to buy the DLC separately shortly afterward. However, for those who have yet to take the game's new Cloud City content for a spin, two upcoming free trial weekends will give you the opportunity to do just that.

Much like EA did with the game's Outer Rim DLC, Star Wars Battlefront's latest DLC offering will be completely free on two separate weekends, allowing players to play on new maps and as new heroes for a limited time. The first free trial period is Aug. 19 to 21, with the second, longer free trial running from Sept. 12 to 18. While the DLC is free, players will still need a base copy of Star Wars Battlefront and an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus subscription if playing on consoles.

Star Wars Battlefront's Bespin DLC adds numerous new maps in and around Cloud City, a new vehicle in the form of the Cloud Car, two new heroes in the form of legendary smuggler Lando Calrissian and bounty hunter Dengar, and of course, new weapons and gadgets. The only piece of content from the Bespin DLC that isn't accessible during the free periods are the game's numerous new weapons and star cards. Those will remain locked and are only accessible to those who purchase the DLC.

The free trials come hot on the heels of more Star Wars Battlefront news out of Star Wars Celebration Europe. The game's third expansion, Death Star, will release in late September and will include heroes Chewbacca and bounty hunter Bossk. An offline skirmish mode is also on the way and will allow players to play the game's Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron game modes offline against AI opponents.

As for the game's previous mysterious fourth DLC pack, it was revealed during the convention that the planet Scarif, the beach paradise to be featured in Rogue One, will be added in December ahead of the film. Players will even be able to play as Rebel protagonist Jyn Erso as a hero character. That will, at long last, conclude Star Wars Battlefront's DLC, but it won't be long until a second Star Wars Battlefront arrives. A second entry in the series is slated to release in 2017, and judging from concept art shown at E3, it will include locations and characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
