Marvel has recently finished filming of the Avengers: Age of Ultron, a film that is scheduled for a 2015 release date. However, there are already talks within the industry of what could happen with the Avengers 3, and so far things are not looking to be headed in the right direction.
According to a new report, Avengers 3 will not include the majority of the popular heroes from Avengers, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. The third movie in the franchise could be made up of B-List characters under the helm of Iron Man, the only hero from the first team to possibly feature in the film.
As it stands, the other heroes are all caught up in other issues, and are needed elsewhere. Black Widow could be dealing with something else on the other side of the world, Captain America, and Thor could be dealing with events that fell apart after their third film.
When it comes down to the Hulk, however, the green beast could be on another planet altogether. It would be interesting to understand how the Hulk ended up on another planet, and whether or not he's going to cause all sorts of destruction there.
This could lead to a movie similar to the plot line of Planet Hulk, but that's only if Marvel is confident enough to give Hulk his own solo film, again.
An Avengers 3 without the big guns could prove difficult to pull off, which means Marvel will have to do an exceptional job with the B-List heroes in order for fans to line up just to see these guys in action. We're not sure if it will work, but it could open the door for these characters to be more in the public's eye.
Furthermore, such a move could increase comic-book sales, as evident with Guardians of the Galaxy and Rocket Raccoon.
With Marvel currently on a winning streak at the box office, we can't help but believe the studio will succeed with this plan for the Avengers 3. However, the rumors would have to be real, and you know what? We wouldn't mind, because it would allow for other heroes to jump to the forefront and save the world.
After all, the Avengers is bigger than just a selective few individuals.
