The Galaxy Note 7, the latest flagship smartphone of Samsung, is an all-around powerful device. Featuring either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or the company's Exynos 8890 chipset with 4 GB of RAM, a 5.7-inch quad HD Super AMOLED display, a 12 MP rear-facing camera, a 5 MP front-facing camera and microSD support for up to 256 GB, the Galaxy Note 7 is an electronic wonder.

For users who already purchased the device, you might not have yet been able to try out everything that the smartphone can do. Here are a few Galaxy Note 7 tips and tricks that will allow users to maximize the smartphone's capabilities, as well as some fixes for common issues.

Upgrading From Another Android Device

For users who are upgrading into the Galaxy Note 7 from another Android device, there is an easy way to transfer all the old smartphone's apps, contacts, photos and other information to the Galaxy Note 7.

Users will have to plug the USB connector that came in the box with the Galaxy Note 7 into the smartphone, and then connect it to the old device using a micro USB to USB cable. The Smart Switch feature will activate to transfer all the content into the Galaxy Note 7.

Customize Always On Display

To customize the Always On Display feature, which was added to the Galaxy Note 7 in its first software update, users can choose the Layouts option after accessing Settings, Display, and then Always On Display. Through the option, users can choose what content will be displayed and how they would look like, along with how much of an impact the feature will have on the battery.

Arrange The App Tray

For users who would like to have a semblance of order in their application tray, they can choose to sort the apps alphabetically by tapping the three dots at the top and selecting the A-Z option. The apps will then be listed alphabetically, which is much better than simply having all news apps displayed at the end of the pages.

Back Up Using The Samsung Cloud

Alongside the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung launched the Samsung Cloud, which is a backup and restore system that works much better compared to the service that Google has in place for Android devices.

The service can be accessed and set up through the Samsung Cloud option under the Cloud and Accounts menu in the device's settings. Samsung Cloud will back up the Galaxy Note 7 wirelessly, and will allow users to access the content on the smartphone in other devices with the same Samsung account logged in.

Reduce Battery Drain

The Galaxy Note 7 comes with a powerful 3,500 mAh battery, but heavy usage will still drain the smartphone's energy. Some things that users can do to reduce the battery drain include eliminating power hungry apps, turning off the Always On Display feature, using the smartphone's power saving modes that can be seen after tapping the Battery option in the Device Maintenance menu under Settings and adjusting screen brightness, among other things.

Maximizing The S Pen

The S Pen stylus offers a lot of functions to users, including the Air Command menu. The menu appears on the screen of the Galaxy Note 7 when the stylus is removed from its silo, and contains shortcuts to several apps specifically designed for the S Pen.

Through the menu, users will be able to perform functions such as write on the screen and translate text through the S Pen.

Getting A Stuck S Pen Out

The S Pen stylus could become stuck if users push it too hard into its silo. If such a thing happens, users should first stop applying pressure on the S Pen, as that will make the problem worse. Instead, users should use a needle or pin to carefully pry up the top of the S Pen, with repeated instances of doing this will fix the issue in the long run.

What Else?

The Galaxy Note 7 offers so much more than what is listed here. The best way to learn all about the Samsung flagship smartphone's capabilities is to simply explore the device's many menus, to see what else the powerful Galaxy Note 7 is hiding under its screen.
