We recently saw the Space Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus appear with a mysterious blue color option. Now a new report and leaked images claim there will actually be five color choices: Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, a "glossy" Space Black and Space Gray.

In late July, a reliable tipster tweeted that Apple would hold its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch event on Sept. 7, and the company would begin accepting preorders for the smartphones on Sept. 9.

Apple just confirmed one of those predictions and has announced it will indeed be holding a press event on Sept. 7, in addition to livestreaming it on its website for those who didn't receive an invite. That day will finally put an end to the now-never-ending reports of leaked images, specs and other details that will supposedly make their way to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Over the last few months, there have been reports that Apple is planning to replace the Space Gray color option currently offered on the iPhone 6/6s and iPhone 6 Plus/6s Plus with either a Deep Blue, Space Black or possibly and most recently Metallic Blue, but a new report claims Space Gray and "glossy" Space Black are here to stay.

Macotakara posted an image of what is reportedly the iPhone 7 SIM tray, which shows there could be five different color choices available for customers to choose from when Apple begins preorders for the new smartphones.

As you can see in the image above, the Silver, Gold and Rose Gold SIM trays match the color options Apple currently offers in its iPhone 6 lineup. What appears to be the Space Black iPhone 7 SIM tray is said to actually be a darker version of Space Gray, according to the site.

Last but not least, the site claims that Apple will offer a fifth color option for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in the form of a "glossy" Space Black. The publication says the beautiful gloss is similar to the Mac Pro (late 2013). The glossy black SIM tray also looks very similar to the black plastic case Apple used in the 2008 iPhone 3G and 2009 iPhone 3GS.

It's also possible the new glossy Space Black color is being introduced, as it appears to match the Space Black Stainless Steel Apple Watch and presumably the Apple Watch 2.

As always, take this report with a grain of salt for now. All will be revealed on Sept. 7.
