There's a certain tradition in Gears of War, and it's called "Seriously." It's the name of an achievement that has appeared in every entry in the Gears of War franchise, one that causes most players to scoff, throw their hands up in the air and admit defeat upon merely gazing at the ludicrous achievement requirements.

Well, "Seriously" is back in the form of "Seriously 4.0" for Gears of War 4, and now, dedicated Gear heads can at long last learn the details on what incredible feats of dedication they'll have to pull off in order to earn the achievement. Via a new Gears of War 4 developer blog, to earn "Seriously 4.0" players will need to:

– Complete the Campaign on Insane Difficulty
– Get to Re-Up 10
– Earn all Ribbons at least once
– Earn a Rank Placement in each mode
– Get all 5 classes to Level 10
– Level any 5 Horde Skills to Level 5
– Complete all 10 ‘on-disc' maps from Wave 1-50 (any difficulty)

That's quite a list to go through, but it's not nearly as bad as some earlier "Seriously" achievements. In the first game, for example, players needed to rack up 10,000 kills total in the game's versus ranked mode to earn 50 gamerscore. In "Seriously 2.0," players needed to kill 100,000 enemies across all of the game's various modes for 100 gamerscore. In Gears of War 3, players had to reach player level 100 and earn every Onyx medal for another 100 gamerscore. Then, most recently, players needed to complete every declassified mission on insane difficulty in order to earn the 75 gamerscore "Seriously Judgemental" achievement in Gears of War Judgement.

None of those are small feats. Each one isn't so much difficult as they are time consuming, but "Seriously 4.0" does look to streamline the achievement a bit by putting the emphasis less on quantity and more on mastering each aspect of Gears of War 4. That being said, earning the achievement is still certain to take plenty of time in Gears of War 4 as well, even if you don't have to farm 100,000 kills. No news yet on how much gamerscore "Seriously 4.0" will earn gamers who step up to the challenge, but we're going to go out on a limb and say it's probably not enough.

Gears of War 4 arrives on Windows 10 and Xbox One on Oct. 11. You can read more about the game's recently-revealed Horde 3.0 mode here.
