Tinder is testing a new feature called Tinder Boost that allows users to promote their profile for 30 minutes.

Tinder is a location-based social search service app that enables communication between like-minded people. The app is commonly known as a dating app, but it also offers other services.

Tinder users have to create their profile so that others can see them. With Tinder Boost, users will have to pay a fee so that their profile is featured as one of the top profiles in their respective areas, thus, increasing the chances of finding the right match.

"Tinder Boost gives you exactly that: a way to be one of the top profiles in your area for 30 minutes. Increase your chances for a match — you can get up to 10x more profile views while boosting," says Tinder. "Boost can only be activated while swiping in Tinder mode. If you have Tinder Plus, you get one free Boost every week. If you want more, or if you don't have Tinder Plus, you can buy a Boost any time you like."

Tinder has revealed that currently, Tinder Boost is being tested only in Australia, but hopefully the feature will be made available for other regions in the near term.

Reports suggest that customers who want to purchase one Tinder Boost will have to pay AU$7.99 ($6). A bundle of five Tinder Boosts costs AU$31 ($24), while a bundle of 10 will cost AU$47 ($36). Many Tinder users, who use the app frequently and want their profile as one of the top profiles in their area, may opt for the new service.

Tinder was launched in 2012 and the app has become one of the most popular hookup apps in the world. In 2015, Tinder introduced a subscription service that brought additional facilities to users. For a monthly fee of $20 for over 30 years and $10 for under 30 years users, the app allowed users to connect with those who are in other cities.

Reports suggest that Tinder Boost will become a permanent feature for subscribers of Tinder Plus. Subscribers of Tinder Plus will get one free Tinder Boost every week. However, they are free to buy more boosts any time.

Tinder is not the first company to offer profile boosting services. Match.com and Bumble are other dating apps that offer similar features like Tinder Boost.

It remains to be seen how swiftly the new Tinder Boost feature is made available to other parts of the world.
