It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the 128 GB Google Pixel XL is selling like hotcakes, but at any rate, it's still disheartening to know that it's already sold out at Verizon.

To spell things out clearly, units of the 128 GB Pixel XL won't be making their way to the Big Red's retail stores for now, and their expected shipping date has been delayed way back to Nov. 18.

Your Options

That leaves customers who want to get the Pixel as soon as possible with fewer choices than planned: Get the 32 GB Pixel XL and be content with the smaller capacity or get the Pixel with 128 GB of storage and settle with the smaller size.

The thing is, the 128 GB Pixel XL has also been cleaned out via the Google Store, and even Best Buy's website doesn't have any 128 GB variants available. That means those who really want to get ahold of the smartphone in question will have to try their luck at a local branch of the big-box store.

Verizon's Confirmation

Jeffrey Nelson of Verizon's communications group took things to Twitter to announce the disappointing news.

About the shipping date that got pushed back to Nov. 18, the carrier has already updated the 128 GB Pixel XL's listing on its website.

Pixel vs. Pixel XL: What's The Difference Anyway?

Despite having just a few differences here and there between the Pixel and the Pixel XL, is the smaller sibling really out of the question? Of course, that's all up to the customer to decide, but to help clear things up on that front, here's a short look at how they stand up against each other:

While the Pixel has a 5-inch FHD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, the Pixel XL sports a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display at 534 ppi. The former also has a smaller 2,770 mAh battery, whereas the latter is packing in a larger 3,450 mAh cell.

That's about it — they both have a Snapdragon 821 chip, 4 GB of RAM, the same features and cameras and practically everything else across the board.

Wrap-Up

Still, it's understandable why people want the 128 GB Pixel XL because the Phone by Google lineup doesn't come with expandable storages and it looks like big phones are in this year, just like the case with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. However, it should be pointed out that users will have unlimited storage for their media files via Google Photos, and that can lighten the load by a lot.
