Time travel and teleportation, which are considered science fiction today, as well as invisibility cloaks featured in Hollywood movies such as Harry Potter may soon become reality, predict scientists.

A group of scientists from the University of Glasgow and Imperial College London estimate that time travel may be possible by 2100 and teleportation by 2080. Professor Chris Phillips, a physicist at Imperial College London, suggests that an invisibility cloak may become a reality as early as in the next 10 to 20 years.

Professor Phillips suggests that it is entirely possible to create an invisibility cloak; moreover, basic versions of the invisibility cloak have also been developed by scientists.

A previous report reveals that scientists from the University of Rochester have also created an optical illusion device, so-called the Rochester Cloak or the invisibility cloak, made from lenses that are easily available in the market. The Rochester Cloak has the ability to make objects disappear with the use of simple and basic principles of physics.

Dr. Mary Jacquiline Romero, from the University of Glasgow's School of Physics and Astronomy, reveals that teleportation at a small scale has already been achieved by scientists. She suggests that there is no fundamental law that says teleportation cannot be done.

Dr. Romero also suggests that teleporting an individual per physics i.e. atom by atom is very difficult. However, advancements in the field of molecular biology and chemistry may allow scientists to develop a way to make teleportation a reality as well as swiftly.

Time travel has enticed many people after the release of famous science fiction film "Back to the Future" in 1985. Lead character of the movie teenager Marty McFly(Michael J. Fox), travels back to the past and meets his unmarried mom and dad. Marty also travel to the future where he meets his future kids. Such films have made people optimistic of time travel machines and have also ignited a spark in scientists to create time traveling devices.

Scientists predict that time travel may be possible but it is an immense challenge for them. Colin Stuart, Science Communicator and author of "The Big Questions in Science" suggests that time travel to the future has also been achieved in small amounts. He is optimistic that humans can travel week in the future by 2100.
