Nintendo still continues its streak of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild teasers in the form of screenshots of the forthcoming game, and sometimes, art. Like clockwork, it has released two new teasers once again: one depicts a Breath of the Wild sunset rendered in a classic Zelda art style reminiscent of the game's age-old physical manuals, and the other shows off the game's Guardian enemy.

New Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Art

As a way to celebrate the new year, Nintendo published the postcard-worthy artwork: a gorgeous, hand-drawn rendering of Link looking over an idyllic, lurid landscape, kneeling atop an alpine cliff, with towering mountains in the distance.

The style of that particular image mirrors that olden physical set of artwork gifted to players upon purchase of old-school Zelda games, bundled inside the game's packaging. It's a quiet but wistful nod to the franchise' past entries. Lovely as it is, nostalgia can only do so much to calm a crowd of upset anticipants awaiting the game, which has already suffered major delays.

Just to give an overview of the game's delays, it was first announced during E3 in 2011 as a demo for the Wii U's graphical capabilities, but Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of the Legend of Zelda series, confirmed that Nintendo was indeed planning an HD Zelda title. Nearly six years later, with releases of remastered Zelda entries for the Wii U in-between to close the long gaps, the game will finally be out.

The Guardians

Nintendo also shared, as previously mentioned, a rendered drawing of a Guardian enemy over a plain background, letting users gawk at a stylized version of one of the main antagonists in the game. These Guardians come in a variety of shapes and sizes according to Nintendo. The Guardian depicted in Nintendo's photo show what looks like crystal-blade spears jutting out on both ends of the enemy's arms.

In previous promotional videos and gameplay demos for Breath of the Wild, Guardians have been shown with the ability to shoot powerful colored beams at Link, though the full scope of its combat power remains to be seen.

These are just some of Nintendo's latest teasers about the game. It recently put out a concept art for Link during a holiday scene, and another one where he's close to a bonfire during a picturesque winter.

Breath of the Wild comes out in 2017 for the Wii U and the Switch, Nintendo's highly anticipated hybrid console out this March. Though a specific release date for the game hasn't been announced, it's been tipped to hit shelves this March, coinciding with the Switch's release.
