Humans are relying on technology to make life a lot easier. There have been news about smartwatches, smart wig, smart bra, and now there is a smart ring seeking support on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo. While it might not be the ring to rule us all, it could be something that's worth being called "my precious" by Gollum. That's right, the "Smarty Ring" as it is called by its developers has the potential to disrupt the tech world.

The smart ring has the ability to control the user's smartphone, receive phone calls, display instant alerts, and show time in five different time zones.

"The Smarty Ring is a high quality piece of tech-jewelry made from allergy free, surgical quality stainless steel. The simple elegance of this piece makes it suited for both men and women, at an occasion. The exterior of the Smarty Ring is not only fashionable - but waterproof. Take a Smarty Ring anywhere - even where your phone can't go! Perfect for humid climates or to stay connected on vacation. This makes a great companion for a business professional on vacation who needs lives updates even while swimming," the Indiegogo page of the Smarty Ring read.

"The dazzling LED display is great for day and night use. Not only is it a charming conversation starter, but you'll have your friends gawking at this cool gadget," it added.

The smart ring measures 13 millimeters wide and 4 mm thick and depends on a 22 maH flexible battery for its power. At the moment, supporters can choose from a blue or green LED display.

The wearable technology can also be tweaked using a smartphone app. Users can change the profile, set the clock, adjust the brightness, assign speed dials, and adjust volume of the Beeper using the mobile app. It can also be charged using a wireless charger.

The Smarty Ring has surpassed its funding goal of $40,000 and, as of reporting, raked in almost $204,000.

The maker of the smart ring plans to sell the wearable device for $275, and, given its cool design and reasonable pricing, the Smarty Ring might pose some problems for smartwatch manufacturers.
