Halo 5: Guardians is looking great, but despite our love for what we have seen, there are certain aspects of the new gameplay mechanics we do not view as necessary. It is hoped 343 Industries will remove these features or improve them considerably.

We won't lie: some of these mechanics have potential, but this doesn't stop them from being the least impressive of all, and thus the reason why they have graced this list.

Slide

What's the point of having a Spartan sliding to cover when Halo is not a cover-based shooter? Plus, it does not come off as intuitive. We doubt many players of the beta will regularly make use of this new gameplay mechanic as running and gunning is the way to go.

Spartan Charge

Another new gameplay feature we take issue with. Already, there are two melee type options in Halo 5: Guardians. There's the standard / classic melee attack and newly added Ground Pound. Where does Spartan Charge fit in?

The attack is all about charging at another player like a crazed bull and slamming into them with the shoulder. However, while this melee attack might sound excellent, we suspect that it would be easier for an opposing player to dodge a Spartan Charge attack. You see for the charge to work, the gamer must be at full Sprint.

Clamber

What the heck is Clamber? Well, it allows the Spartan to grab on to a ledge while jumping from one platform to the next. Usually, if the player failed to land by foot on a platform, then death shows its ugly head. Back then, Spartans weren't smart enough to grab on before falling to their death.

Now, we have to admit that we like Clamber, but it should be automatic. No need to press another button just to grab on and climb on a platform. We have no idea why 343 Industries has chosen to make this a complicated process, and so we hope for change before the full game is released next year.

Apart from these issues, we have not seen anything else worthy of hate. The most important thing right now is that Halo is back; fans are in for a treat no doubt.
