The latest game in the Legend of Zelda series, Breath of the Wild, has been released for the Nintendo Switch console and the Wii U. Players have been looking forward to lay their hands on the title and now, they will finally be able to explore the exciting world of Zelda.

The first thing to know for a new player is that the game is a true survival experience where players have to keep track of every activity that they take part in. The world, Hyrule, is massive and it will take gamers hours to explore every nook and cranny of it.

Players are left to fend for themselves, and navigting one's way is not easy. This may pose a challenge for new players. So, here are a few tips and tricks to help gamers along the way.

Combat Tactics

Players need to remember that combat in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is not just blind hack and slash but requires formulating strategies. There are a lot of ways to approach combat, and it is best to judge the situation. Sometimes using your bow and arrow from a distance may prove fruitful, while at other times it's best to use explosives on a large group of enemies.

Some enemies may prove too powerful for you and in these cases, it is best to just run off and come back when you are better prepared.

Save Often

Dangers can arise anytime while roaming the lands of Hyrule, and players should save the game frequently so that they do not lose their progress. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild allots one manual save slot, and players are recommended to use it.

Special Maneuvers

Always make sure to use the dodge and parry functionality to decrease the damage taken from enemies. The charged attack capability also proves useful against powerful enemies. Different weapons have different charge attacks.

Shrines

These in-game locations provide players with puzzles. It is highly recommended that the player complete these puzzles because it unlocks a fast travel point, as well as net the player Spirit Orbs, which can be used to upgrade health and stamina in the game.

Cooking Food

All food that is found in the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can be consumed raw. However, the game offers some interesting boosts if the player decides to cook and consume them. These boosts are temporary and are granted to the players as attributes.

Stealth Kills

Even though stealth skills are difficult to achieve in most cases, you can sneak up to an enemy and kill him with one strike. This is a very helpful tactic at the beginning of the game as most enemies are too powerful for the player to go head-on against them.

You can pick up a copy of the game from Nintendo's website for $59.99.
