BET's '106 and Park' is coming to an end, ladies and gentlemen. The popular music show is closing shop after 14-years on the air, and many laughs along with surprises.

For the past 14-years, '106 & Park' has been the number one music show on BET, so why is the show being removed from the air? Well, we are not fully sure as the announcement did not go into this matter in great detail. What we do know is that 106 & Park is not dead, as the folks behind the show are aiming to bring it to the digital realm.

"It's been a great 14-year run as America's top music/variety show on cable," says Stephen Hill, the channel's President of Music Programming and Specials. "And now that very valuable brand is going to take its talents to the digital realm. The interactive brand you helped build, 106 & Park, is alive and well...and it's moving to the space in which our audience NOW interacts with music the most: online."

With such a popular show coming online, it is clear that the Internet is killing television faster than we've come to expect. The big question on everyone's mind, however, is where the show will be hosted. The best option we can see right now is for them to host it on YouTube and allow everyone from around the world to watch.

They should bear in mind that 106 & Park is a part of many cable packages around the world, so restricting access to only a few countries will not go down well. Furthermore, it would be best if the show does not attract a subscription. This is no Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead. Make the show freely available and make a profit via advertisement and other means.

BET's 106 & Park will air on TV for the very last time on Dec. 19, two days after The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies debut in theaters around the world.

While 106 & Park is exiting the land of TV, there will be specials. BET plans to use the powerful 106 & Park name for award shows and New Year's Eve.

You know, we have to wonder if 106 & Park lost its ratings to World Star Hip Hop. Let's face it, most teenagers nowadays are arguably tuning into World Star Hip Hop far more than 106 & Park these days.
