Images of the Moto Z2 Force have been leaked, possibly revealing key specs of Lenovo-owned Motorola's next Moto Z series smartphones. Last year's Moto Z and Z Force were pretty decent smartphones on their own right, and it stands to reason that the successor is poised to offer something much better.

Moto Z2 Force Leaked

For the Moto Z sequel, Motorola might be jumping on the trend of dual cameras, as you can see on the back of the device.

In addition, as per purported renders leaked online by SlashLeaks, the Moto Z2 phone features a slightly different external design, but it sports the same ultra-thin profile of its predecessor. There's also a larger fingerprint sensor on the back, similar to the Moto G5, in addition to a nice touch of Lenovo's branding on the side of the phone, for those of you who might have missed that wee detail.

Moto Mods Will Continue

On the back are the Moto Mod connectors for Moto Mods, Motorola's series of detachable accessories, which give compatible Moto smartphones expanded features. The dual cameras setup is placed in the same location as with Motorola's previous smartphones, although there's two of them now, obviously.

Moto Z2 Force Ultra-Thin Design

The thin profile of the Moto Z2 closely follows the design of the Moto Z before it, which is similarly slim. Overall, the design is very similar to previous Moto smartphones, meaning the company has not yet jumped to the trend of nearly bezel-less displays as Samsung and LG have with their Galaxy S8 and G6 smartphones, respectively. It's the old Motorola design albeit flecked with slightly new elements — nothing wrong about that, to be clear.

Interestingly, SlashLeaks refers to the leaked renders as the Moto Z2 Force, which is interesting considering the fact that the Moto Z Force model was thicker than the standard one. If this render is indeed the Force, then it's only logical to assume that the regular Moto Z2 will be much thinner, if last year's strategy is followed. That said, it's hard to imagine how thinner one can go if one looks at the renders.

The leaks and accompanying speculation, of course, should be taken with a grain of salt. Neither Lenovo nor Motorola has offered any official word with regard to the Moto Z successor pictured here, so have a bit of caution. The original phone launched in June last year, however, so an unveiling is likely set.

Moto Z2 Force Possible Specs

It's best to wait for the official specs to come through, but the Moto Z2 Force could potentially ship with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor; around 4 GB of RAM, perhaps more; 64 GB of internal storage; Android 7.0 Nougat; and hopefully a headphone jack.

It's also possible that we'll see new Moto Mods along with the unveiling and eventual release of the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force.
