The OnePlus 6 launch date has finally been confirmed, so fans of the flagship smartphone killer should start marking their calendars.

There's already a lot known about the OnePlus 6, from a combination of rumors, leaks, and information from the company itself. Thus, the question now is whether OnePlus still has some things up its sleeves to surprise its loyal customers.

OnePlus 6 Announcement Date Confirmed

Through the official OnePlus account on Twitter, the company has revealed that the OnePlus 6 launch date is set for May 16. Customers who are looking forward to the next OnePlus phone will not have to wait long before they find out what the OnePlus 6 will offer.

The OnePlus 6 announcement will take place in London and for customers who are interested to watch the smartphone's unveiling, OnePlus will begin selling early bird tickets starting April 25 at €18 each or about $21.95. Regular tickets, which will cost €34 each, will take the place of the Early Bird tickets starting the evening of April 27.

According to OnePlus, customers who attend the event and purchase the OnePlus 6 will receive a mystery gift. The company might also give away items to the attendees, similar to what it did that for the OnePlus 5T launch. Tickets at the OnePlus 5T event were priced at $40 each, but all attendees automatically received a OnePlus backpack, an event t-shirt, stickers, and a coupon that will slash $40 off of the OnePlus 5T price.

Those who will not be able to attend the OnePlus 6 unveiling in London, however, will still be able to watch the event as it unfolds. OnePlus will livestream the event so that everyone in the world can see what the OnePlus 6 will look like.

What Do We Know About The OnePlus 6?

Previous reports have claimed that the OnePlus 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 8GB of RAM. The smartphone has been confirmed to have a notch in its 6.2-inch display, following the trend that was started by the iPhone X.

A pair of teasers also fueled speculations that the OnePlus 6 will be water-resistant and that it will have a ceramic back. Pete Lau, the OnePlus CEO, confirmed however that the smartphone will have a glass back.

In addition to whether the OnePlus 6 will be sold through U.S. carriers, one of the biggest unanswered questions about the smartphone is its price tag. The OnePlus 6 price, which will determine the device's ability as a flagship smartphone killer, will be one of the most anticipated pieces of information from the May 16 event.
