Walt Disney Pictures released the first look into its latest live-adaptation film, Tim Burton's Dumbo. The film will star Michael Keaton and Colin Farrell.

Enter The World of 'Dumbo'

The one-minute and 20-second teaser transported fans into Dumbo's world. They were instantly greeted with a weather vane that had two elephants on it. It was overlooking a town where a traveling circus was set up. As the trailer progressed, viewers heard an unidentified female vocalist singing "Baby Mine," a song that was featured in the 1941 animated film.

Probably the significant scenes in the teaser trailer include the first appearance of Holt Farrier (Farrell), a former circus star whose life was altered during his experience during a war, and his two children, Milly and Joe (Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins).

They find the title star under a hay barrel. After they discover Dumbo, the film instantly transports the viewer inside the circus, where they see a conductor leading an orchestra and dancers performing.

The Adventure Begins

Viewers also meet Farrier's coworkers including French trapeze artist Colette Marchant (Eva Green) fly across the Big Top. Another emotional moment of the trailer was the Farrier family comforting young Dumbo after his mother is taken away by an unknown driver. The trailer provides glimpses of the movie's new characters including the entrepreneur V.A. Vandemere (Keaton) and ringmaster Max Medici (Danny DeVito).

The trailer also capitalizes on some of the elements from the 1941 animated film. There are the infamous pink elephants, which were the original hallucinations of the titular character. The final moments of the teaser involve the first moment that Dumbo uses his signature ears and flies across the circus. Dumbo is scheduled to hit theatres on March 29, 2019.

Disney News

Several Disney characters are set to return to the Kingdom Hearts universe. Square Enix released gameplay to Kingdom Hearts III, the next chapter of the popular video game franchise. Fans saw Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy reunite in two different realms. They first faced off against the monstrous Rock Titan from Disney's Hercules. The trio also went into the Toy Story universe as they helped Woody and Buzz Lightyear defend their world against the Heartless.

During CinemaCon in April, Disney presented the press with first looks of three live-action adaptions of classic animated films. In addition to Dumbo, they previewed the Guy Richie-directed Aladdin, where they saw the titular character (Mena Massoud) being chased around Agrabah by the Sultans' guards. They also previewed the live-action adaptation of The Lion King. The voice cast of the film includes Donald Glover, Beyoncé, John Oliver, and James Earl Jones, who will reprise his role as Mufasa.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Google Maps gave Disney theme park fans virtual access to all 11 Disney theme parks. It will allow families to take a virtual tour of any theme park. The feature also let them go on any attraction of their choice virtually.
