Xbox One at $349.99 is coming to an end in Jan. 3, 2015, so gamers who have yet to purchase the Microsoft console should act swiftly because the price will return to its regular $399.99 price tag. Chances are, the price won't slip again officially until before or after E3 2015.

Microsoft slashed the price starting in November to accommodate Black Friday and the holiday season. For those who are confused, we should point out that the company did make it clear that the original price will return on Jan. 3, so this should not have come as a surprise to anyone.

"The holidays are almost over, but there's still time to take advantage of the special, limited-time pricing of $50 off the Xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity Bundle and Xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity Bundle with Kinect," stated Microsoft. "For one final week, fans can purchase Xbox One starting at $349.99 in the U.S. until this Saturday, Jan. 3 at most major national retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Microsoft Stores, Target, Toys 'R Us and Walmart."

Interestingly enough, Microsoft did point out that gamers interested in grabbing an Xbox One can look to several online retailers as they will be offering exclusive deals up until Saturday. These deals have everything to do with the Assassin's Creed: Unity bundle, though we are almost certain gamers won't be purchasing the bundle for the game since it has left a bad taste on the tongues of gamers everywhere.

It is very sad to see this deal go, but it might turn out to be even more sorry for Microsoft. Because of the deal, the company was able to increase Xbox One sales in the United States and in several countries in Europe. However, with the deal gone, we expect the Sony PlayStation 4 to continue walking over the Xbox One for the majority of 2015 unless the price comes down again.

Only a miracle right now can save the Xbox One from the assault that is coming. With the amount of exclusive games coming to the PlayStation 4 in early 2015, we can safely say that Microsoft might never bounce back to a form that would allow the Xbox One to catch up in the sales department.
