Samsung is rumored to roll out a new Galaxy Book laptop in the near future, and now alleged images of the device in question are circulating online.

It's called the Galaxy Book S, and it's the direct successor to the Galaxy Book 2.

Leaked Photos

Posted by the ever-reliable leakster Evan Blass on Twitter, the pictures (via Slashleaks) show the Galaxy Book S from different angles.

For starters, it's a thin laptop with slim bezels, featuring a front-facing camera at the top of the screen for video calling and the like. From the top view, the keyboard and trackpad layout can be seen, sporting a gray color with a purplish hue of sorts. A look from the left side shows one USB-C port and what could be a headphone jack or power connector.

What the images don't show are the right side of the device, which presumably has more ports, and the top.

Now unlike the Galaxy Book 2, it seems to be a traditional laptop with a keyboard attached. In other words, it's not a 2-in-1 detachable, which has been the typical design of the Galaxy Book lineup until this model.

Snapdragon-Powered Laptop?

The specs of the Galaxy Book S are still unclear, and there's not much to go by at the moment. According to the rumor mill, though, it's going to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 paired with 8 GB of RAM and run on Windows 10. This could turn out to be true since the South Korean brand has used Snapdragon chips before in the series, after all. Case in point, the Galaxy Book 2 has a Snapdragon 850 under the hood.

While there hasn't been a peep out of Samsung about the laptop, there's a chance it could be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Note 10. Put differently, there could be more to expect from the company's Unpacked event in New York on Aug. 7 than just a new flagship smartphone.
