Samsung hasn't been shy in making fun of Apple for certain iPhone design choices, such as the addition of a notch on the iPhone X in 2017 and the removal of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 in 2016.

Now the South Korean brand got rid of the headphone jack as well with the Galaxy Note 10, and perhaps in an effort to not look hypocritical, it's scrubbing its ads that mocked the Cupertino brand for it from its YouTube channels.

A Change Of Heart?

As spotted by Business Insider, one commercial titled "Growing Up," which was released in 2017, was removed from Samsung Mobile USA and Samsung's main channel with 1.8 million and 3.8 million subscribers, respectively.

In the ad in question, a user purchases one iPhone after another, going from one generation of the device to another. The so-called limitations of the iPhone are highlighted in the clip, and the user gets fed up until he gives in and buys a Galaxy Note.

One scene that stands out is when the Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter is put in the spotlight, giving a glimpse of the "dongle life." With the Galaxy Note 10's release, this could also be the reality that its users will be facing, unless they go with wireless headphones, of course.

Other Deleted Ads

It seems that Samsung is cleaning up its act a bit, as it isn't just removing ads that ridiculed Apple's "courage" to ditch the headphone jack.

That said, the company has also deleted one ad that focused on the whole throttling debacle the iPhone maker had in its hands. It even removed the "Ingenious" series, one of which pokes fun at the iPhone 7's lack of a headphone jack and the dongle.

Now Samsung didn't erase all of its ads along the same vein — or maybe it hasn't yet. At any rate, the aforementioned "Growing Up" commercial is still up on the Samsung Malaysia channel (posted below).
