Google Pixel 4 XL Leak
(Photo : Nextrift) A recent leak "confirms" certain details regarding the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, and they could prove to be disappointing for some users.

The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL had their full spec sheet leaked and what they're coming with in the box, just a couple of days before Google's Oct. 15 event, where the phones are expected to be announced.

The two are getting upgrades across the board, building on their predecessors, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, in a number of ways. They're even going to get a new Pixel Neural Core, which seems to be replacing the Pixel Visual Core.

However, not everything is looking too great.

Smaller Battery

The new Pixels will be packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 or 128 GB of built-in storage, among other things. To no one's surprise, the XL variant will have a bigger screen with a higher resolution and a larger battery than the standard model.

Thing is, the Pixel 3 also has a bigger battery than the Pixel 4. To recap, the former has a 2,915 battery, and according to the leak, the latter has a 2,800 mAh battery.

The Pixel 4 XL does have a larger 3,700 mAh battery than its predecessor's 3,430 mAh battery, so there's that.

No USB-C Adapter Or Earbuds In The Box

As noted, the leak has also revealed what's in the box, and from the look of things, there's no USB-C earphones or a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter included.

It's unclear why that is, but Google might be thinking that everyone's had enough time to adapt to the shift toward USB-C and Bluetooth audio peripherals.

In other markets, though, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL might ship with some compatible headphones, since certain countries legally require phone makers to do so.

For the record, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL shipped with a pair of USB-C earbuds when it launched.

Now the smaller battery and lack of USB-C earphones or adapter are likely to disappoint some users who are planning to buy Google's upcoming smartphones, but on the other hand, they might not be that big of an issue that would deter fans from getting either one of the new Pixels.
