In Hideo Kojima's latest game, Death Stranding, you will be helping Sam Porter Bridges, the main protagonist of the game and played by The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, deliver cargo around the post-apocalyptic USA, now known as UCA or the United Cities of America.

Forbes has a complete glossary of terms and phrases used in Death Stranding, including BBs or Bridge Babies, as well as BTs or Beached Things.

How to Get a Motorcycle

Walking around will play a massive role in this game, but sooner or later, you'll come across the Trike, which can help you deliver your cargo much faster and easier.

You'll first see a trike at the Distribution Center West of Capital Knot City, but it's not in the best shape, and you won't be able to use it, but you can charge and store it if you act fast enough before timefall or the corrosive rain can obliterate it.

While walking is common in Death Stranding, you can also get your own motorcycle.

In a guide by Screen Rant, to charge and ride a motorcycle, you first need to have the ability to build a generator, which will be bestowed by a character named Mama after you have done enough missions and visited the northwest location from Distribution Center West of Capital Knot City known as Wind Farm.

If you have a Portable Chiral Constructor, you only need to select a generator, and one will be built alongside the motorcycle you'll see at the Distribution Center West of Capital Knot City.

If you don't have the Portable Chiral Constructor, you can make a quick trip to the distribution center and build one.

Charging and Repairing your Trike

Once you have built the generator, you can now drive the rusted Trike and ride back to base where you can store it and have it repaired.

According to Polygon, you can also try entering your private room when you reach any distribution center with an elevator, and from there, you'll see a cutscene of Sam dropping his ride in a room where it will be charged and repaired.

Detecting and Avoiding BTs

Meanwhile, BTs are one of the characters you should try to avoid as much as possible, whether you're on foot or your trusted Trike.

There are ways to detect when a BT is near, and one of these is the timefall.

The Odradek can help you detect if a BT is nearby when playing Death Stranding.

When this corrosive rain comes, make sure you check your Odradek or the mechanical arm that extends from your suit. If it starts flapping, then a BT is near, and it will always face the direction of the BT, so you know where to go and how to avoid it.

The Odradek will blink faster once you're close to a BT, and while you're still able to move, be sure that Sam is crouching.

Once you're really close to these ghostly beings, your Odradek will start going crazy, but don't run.

Instead, crouch and make Sam hold his breath so the BT won't hear you while you slowly walk away from it. However, Sam has stamina, and the gauge will go down once he starts holding his breath.

You can steal some breath before the gauge is low, or you have to ensure that Sam is a good distance away from the BT before the gauge empties, or Sam will take a big gulp of air--if not, the BT will hear him, and dead bodies will drag him on thick, black tar.

Good thing Sam can be revived if you can't get free from the Catchers.

Can You Kill a BT?

The last thing you should try to do is fight these Beached Things because they are rather hard to kill--but not impossible.

BT or Beached Things are one of the things you should avoid in Death Stranding.

According to Eurogamer, a single throw of Hematic Grenades or "blood grenades" can kill it, or even two at once if they are near each other.

These BT killers can be acquired when you complete Death Stranding Order 13 and reach Order 15, which is the "Equipment Trial: Hematic Grenade" task.
