Samsung is prepping to release the successor of the Galaxy S5 in a few months and it seems a select few will get a peek at the impending Galaxy S6 at the International CES 2015. If that wasn't enough, the Galaxy S6 has leaked online and it seems Samsung is favoring a metal chassis instead of plastic.

According to reports, Samsung will "showcase the Galaxy S6 and its variant" -- possibly the Galaxy S6 Edge -- at the trade show in Las Vegas. However, there's a catch -- only select partners (likely carriers and accessory makers) will see the flagship smartphone from the OEM, not consumers.

In December 2014, rumors were rife that the Galaxy S6 was changing its calendar and would release at the International CES 2015 and not the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from March 2 to March 5. It could be that Samsung simply intends to unveil the smartphone to a lucky few!

The Galaxy S6, codenamed Project Zero, it seems will take the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4 route and will tout a metal frame that will offer a richer feel.

The new design sensibility will also make the Galaxy S5 more durable as the leaked images on French publication Nowhereelse reveal. It got hold of the images of the chassis courtesy a first-time source. In keeping with previous rumors, the leaked images of the alleged Galaxy S6 hint at an aluminum body.

One can espy a cutout slot for the camera in the center, as well as one in the bottom. Whether the Galaxy S6 will boast a curved screen as rumored is not verifiable from the chassis images.

Rumors hint at the Galaxy S6 touting a 5.5-inch qHD Super AMOLED screen. The smartphone, as reported earlier, is anticipated to house 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of on-board storage that is expandable. The Snapdragon 810 chip which offers support for 4K content or an Exynos 7420 processor may power the smartphone. The Galaxy S6 is also rumored to come with Android 5.0 out of the box and pack in a 20-megapixel primary camera, which will be an improvement on the current one.

While any Samsung fan will love to get a metal chassis for the Samsung S6, it is still best to treat such leaks with a grain of salt until confirmation or official announcement has been made.
