What to Expect with the Revival of Commodore 64 

With the revival of Commodore 64, expect that there will be some major changes that will definitely excite old retro-fans and also to those soon-to-be retro fans. With its new stunning HD graphics, the 64 pre-installed old-school-games like Iridis Alpha, Hover Bovver, Gridrunner, California Games, Paradroid, Boulder Dash, and Attack of Mutant Camels will be displayed in 720p image that can support 50Hz up to 60Hz in any modern TV or monitor you will be using. You can also switch from Classic mode (VIC-20 or C64) or the Carousel mode with this updated model. In addition to that, another enhancement on the C64 will be audio it's audio scaling that will provide us the playing sound that closes to the previous models to give us the throwback we are longing for. The joystick will still have its old look while giving us a much better experience with its new micro switches that will deliver smooth navigation while playing. Unlike the previous model (C64 Mini), where the keyboard is just for display, the Commodore 64 will be a full-size model having its own working keyboard and function keys that will allow you to enjoy the modern and classic gaming at the same time. The keyboard will be bulky compared to the thin and trending ones bringing you back to the 1980s arcades.

Commodore 64 Mini Size

In 2018, Commodore already released and sells its mini replica of Commodore 64, wherein it only costs $70. This device hit the parts of North Americal, where the Retro Games have seen to be a more marketable place compared to other countries. Just like the C64, the Commodore 64 mini also has 64 pre-loaded games and extra joysticks that can also be connected to on TV or any HDMI-capable monitor.

When will it be Released?

The full-size model of Commodore 64 is expected to be released on Dec.12 ranging at $120 at most. The shipping will start in some parts of Europe, but the United States release of this device is not yet announced by the company.
