Oddworld Inhabitants Inc., the developers of the forthcoming 2020 release of Oddworld: Soulstorm announced that its award-winning classic adventure video game Oddworld: Stanger's Wrath HD, is set to come to the Nintendo Switch next month. But starting today, Beginning today, enthusiasts can already pre-purchase it from the eShop of Nintendo for only $23.99, giving them 20% off from its regular $29.99 price.
First launched in 2005, according to gonintendo.com, Stranger's Wrath "was hailed as a striking and exquisitely realized masterpiece by Game Informer Magazine." It also earned a "Metacritic score of 88/100." Additionally, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath was nominated too, at the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Interactive Achievement Awards for the Outstanding Achievement in Animation award. To date, the gameplay of Stranger's Wrath stays unique as it offers a groundbreaking combination of puzzle genres platformer and shooter with a hybrid perspective, allowing the gamer to switch between the "1st person action and the 3rd person exploration.

New Performance and Graphical Upgrades
According to Lorne Laninng, Oddworld Inhabitants co-founder, they've rounded up several great new performances and graphical upgrades for the Stranger's Wrath's Nintendo Switch version, and they are heading into the bounty store for the delivery of the game's best version for the Switch fans. Fully taking advantage of Nintendo Switch, this game has significantly enhanced the full 1080 HD graphics with 60 fps and studio, the ultra-tight gyro-aiming for fine tunings, and extremely fast load times. Lanning added Every time a gamer takes it "on-the-go or use it via TV Mode or Table Top," the 12-hour storyline of the game and its five hours of side missions play best on Switch.
Stranger's Wrath stars mysterious bounty hunter, Stranger, who rejects the use of guns. In relation to this, the game's hero is experiencing poor health, needing Moolah for the purchase of life-saving surgery. Set in the Western Mudos wastelands, Stranger helps the town folk in capturing scoundrels and outlaws before accepting the final bounty. Instead of the traditional shooters throwing bombs and firing bullets, Stranger takes a more organic tactic to ammunition, through the use of different critters to launch at opponents from his crossbow.
Announcement Made at the Annual Event
It was at Nintendo's yearly event dubbed, "The Nintendo Switch Indie World Showcase" where the leading gaming platform announced its latest indie games that are set to come to the Nintendo Switch, with Stranger's Wrath HD, being among them. Yesterday morning, the said event showcased different new titles, totaling to 16 titles in all. A little more than halfway through the event's presentation, the release date of Stranger's Wrath was announced via a brief 50-seconder video, playing during the showcase. Specifically, the game is set for release on January 23, 2020.
The Oddworld franchise has existed for decades already, and this latest development offers new players the opportunity to experience a classic game on a brand-new platform with updated graphics, gameplay and sound design. Moreover, the entire new Oddworld game named Oddworld: Soulstorm is set for release sometime in 2020. Unlike some other titles announced during the event, it appears that the Stranger's Wrath has been dwarfed over by other video games, like Axiom Verge 2 and The Survivalists.
