Fans have been waiting patiently for the Uncharted movie to come out and though it is taking quite a long time, 12 years to be exact, at least lead actor, Tom Holland is super psyched about it saying that when it comes to movie adaptations from games, this actually has the potential to really succeed compared to other video-game-to-movie projects in the past who have definitely had their fair share of struggles.

Tom Holland told IGN in an interview that "I read the newest draft of the script and it's one of the best scripts I've ever read. It really, really jumps off the page. I think what Uncharted offers that most video game films don't is that it's an origin story to the games, so if you've played the games, you haven't see what's going to happen in the film. If you haven't played the games, you're going to enjoy the film because it's information that everyone else is getting at the same time." As to who will play Victor "Sully" Sullivan, Tom Holland will be working with Mark Wahlberg whom he believes will "kill it and it is going to be a lot of fun."
This Sony Pictures movie has been in the works since 2008 which has taken more than a decade to prepare. Losing its sixth director, Zombieland, and Venom director, Ruben Fleischer, which is at the top of Sony's list of prospects, is ready to replace Travis Knight on the director's chair.
What is Uncharted?
The Uncharted movie will be based on a video game with the same title. It is an action-adventure game series developed by a company called Naughty Dog and was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console. The main series of the game follows a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake who travels all over the world to find and uncover plentiful historical mysteries, though the movie itself will be set in a different timeline, which is before the events of the first Uncharted game.
When is the expected Release Date?
Sony Pictures has recently confirmed that Uncharted will be yet again delayed to March 5, 2021.
Uncharted has been one of the best action-adventure games to ever be released in the gaming world, satisfying and leaving players wanting more. This story-driven game will always be considered as a classic masterpiece in the gaming community.
The movie has gone over seven different directors and a large number of scriptwriters for years now and judging by Tom Holland's reaction to everything, it is going to be worth it. At least, that is what the players and fans are hoping for.
