Diablo, a classic action role-playing video game surrounded with angels vs demons theme and was released by Blizzard Studios in 1997, has recently entered the trending chart again.

This is after Blizzard Studios' Co-President Nick van Dyk posted on his social media account that Diablo will be coming soon on Netflix on its animated version. However, PC gamers from last year seemed to be unhappy with this announcement. Here's why.

Diablo on Netflix soon: "Nope, that's not what people like, Blizzard!"

Rumours spread this week about Diablo's progress on making it into an animated Netflix series when Blizzard's Co-President Dyk posted on his Linkedin account-- under his achievements-- that he will be the 'executive producer' of Diablo, "a TV adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment's IP, rendered in anime style. The show is currently in pre-production for distribution worldwide through Netflix."

This news is very shocking for most fans of Diablo since the announcement of making it into an animated series was already released over the years-- making the fans wait for so long. However, this day is possibly their best day as Dyk confirmed that Diablo would be enlisted on Netflix-- with no accurate schedule.

Dyk also did not confirm any info about Diablo and or which Diablo will be addressed on the series since the game has lots of franchises like Diablo: Hellfire, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer, and the ever-controversial Diablo Immortal.

Diablo controversy in 2018 and why this may affect its future Netflix franchise

Diablo video game is a renowned PC game over the decades that reached and sold over 24.8 million copies in 2012. Although a lot of people were mesmerized by its cool effects and violence on the game, Blizzard experienced a massive backlash from their Diablo gamers community when Diablo Immortal was released two years ago.

In BlizzCon 2018, the officials of Blizzard back then such as Allen Adham, executive producer and Blizzard co-founder, and Dan Elggren, production director were criticized during their Q and A portion when audiences booed the officials with its new launching of a smartphone-based Diablo game.

This became a controversy to the Blizzard company that made their stocks plunge and fans boycotted their gaming products. It is also said on their Youtube account that the company was deleting most of the negative comments on their page in order to protect their image from further backlashing.

"Deleting dislikes will not save you," said one Youtube account, one year ago.

"They reduced the dislikes again from 700k to 300k, we are not blind folks," said another Youtube account, four months ago.

Some are happy with blizzard's announcement

Maybe since because of its already two years ago, Blizzard fans now have forgotten this issue from the company. As some fans were excited to see the fighting scenes brought alive on a new Netflix series.

However, one Twitter account highlighted that the game should not be censored just like other series since Diablo is a full-packed, bloody action video game. Once they've done that, Diablo might come back from its massive fall.
