On next week's free games lineup from Epic Games, offered up was the wonderfully made and old-school Assassin's Creed Syndicate along with card game Faeria and sky-and-sea exploration game, InnerSpace.
Players get a free taste of Assassin's Creed Syndicate
This third-person open-world action-adventure video game that was released in 2015 has been one of the best-played game in the Assassin's Creed series which is also the ninth major installment and the successor of 2014's Assassin's Creed Unity.
The game is set in Victorian-era London and based on fictional historical events that follow a group of assassins that have been fighting for peace and the Templars that only desire peace through order. The game allows players to take on the role of an Initiate as they explore the story of the twin protagonists, Jacob and Evie Frye. Both characters are playable with a wide variety of equipment at their disposal but begin the game with a hidden blade on their Assassin gauntlet, smoke bombs, and throwing knives. The two arrive in London in 1868, as the Industrial Revolution reaches its climax, bringing its lot of inequality and poverty in a city controlled by the Templars. To stop their rule, the Fryes will take over the organized crime in an effort to gather an army and free London. Both playable characters have different skill trees, and the Frye twins' play-styles reflect their different personalities. With a few exceptions, you can switch at will between characters between the missions.
Faeria and InnerSpace for those who want less violence in-game
Faeria, a digital collectible, and a turn-based strategy game is also coming to the Epic Games Store next week. Released in 2017, the game was developed and published by the indie Belgian game studio Abraham, and was released for desktop platforms. Each player starts with a deck of thirty cards that go one-on-one against other players or just computer-controlled opponents. Battles only take place on an empty hex board, which has two vying avatars placed on opposite sites of this map; the maps also include four Faeria mana wells at other corners.
InnerSpace, developed by PolyKnight Games and published by Aspyr, is an adventure video game that was released worldwide in 2018 for all platforms. InnerSpace is an exploration flying game set in the Inverse, a world of inside-out planets where gravity pulls outward instead of in. InnerSpace began as a project among college friends and evolved into a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014. After years of development, PolyKnight is proud to welcome you to the Inverse. All of these games will be available to download for free from Feb. 27 to Mar. 5 at the Epic Games Store.
