The Apollo 13 was remarkably one of the most popular voyages into space ever conducted by NASA which is why Astronauts had to train hard and train well to be able to launch the Apollo 13 mission to the moon successfully! What the astronauts have documented in that mission has paved the way for future progress towards understanding outer space. Every single mission NASA launches seems to get us closer and closer to the answers we as human beings have about the great unknown, and this is why NASA is releasing a 4K version of the journey for everyone to understand better and appreciate.

The importance of the 4K version

Nowadays, to get kids to learn more about the moon and the solar system, the visual presentation is the most effective. The good thing about the visual presentation is the accuracy of what it portrays not just to kids but everyone interested in NASA's progress in space journey to the moon. The Apollo 13 is still relevant to this day as one of the missions that changed the course of history and has helped improve the understanding of every single individual on earth about space, especially the moon. 

The other half of the story is how Apollo 13 was experiencing a malfunction as the spacecraft began to go off course and into the abyss. This is the story that really gets people's attention because of the wonder most people have thought at least once "what would it be like to be lost in space" but thankfully, the astronauts were able to make it back to earth in one piece.

What really happened on Apollo 13?

According to the astronauts on board, their goal was to land on the moon, but because of a malfunction, they were chartered off course and had to use the moon's gravity for them to be shot back to earth. Although it was not anyone's plan for this to happen, this did provide the iconic images we see of the moon, which are now seen better in 4K. The astronauts almost lost their lives in space, but thanks to NASA's team of brilliant minds, they were able to find their way back home.

The 4K video came from other footages as well

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft had the most contributions in recreating the stunning views saw by Apollo 13 of the moon way back 1970, and it is almost as if the Apollo 13 was redone completely. The videos were then sped up for the purpose of timing, so what is present in the 4K video is not necessarily an exact copy of what really happened to the Apollo 13.
