A mysterious blasting rock was reportedly seen in skies on parts of Florida in the United States of America last week. Lots of residents from the state mentioned these space sightings on their social media accounts. Most of them were awed by the fireball asteroid, but some also said that it was kind of scary since a lot of things are now happening in the world. What's the explanation behind these sightings?

The American Meteor Society recently posted a video on their official Youtube account where it entailed a 4-second video showing a shining sighting in the sky. Apparently, the video was caught by a safety cam installed in the area in Florida. 

On last Wednesday, Mar. 11, Florida residents said that the fireball appeared around 8 pm on evening skies. It was a quick space sighting, but the residents were left in awe when they first have seen the mysterious fireball. According to the report, 25 reviews from numerous areas in Florida similar to Tampa, Jacksonville, and Palm Harbor had been submitted to the Worldwide Meteor Group that said that they encountered the reported asteroid.

"As the scale of those objects method a millimeter, they start to provide sufficient mild to be seen upon entry to the higher environment as unusual meteors," the IMO defined in a press release. "As a result of velocity at which they strike the Earth's environment, fragments bigger than 1 millimeter has the aptitude to provide a vivid flash as they streak by way of the heavens above." 

Interestingly, most witnesses on the sighting said that the fireball was quick to disappear in the skies; however, some noted that there are areas in the state wherein they had also heard a scorching kind of sound because the fireball streaked throughout the sky. 

"It was extraordinarily vivid. The brightness is what caught my eye," she said in her eyewitness report. "It was largely orange. It didn't explode, however it "fizzled out" into embers like a burning piece of paper. It was fairly wonderful."

According to the report, asteroids and meteors have the same characteristic of showing brighter colors whenever they enter the atmosphere of the Earth. It was understood that these asteroids experience their first 'resistance' with the planet's atmosphere, which produces the shiny blasting fire along their passage in the Earth skies.

"Due to the velocity at which they strike the Earth's atmosphere, fragments larger than one millimeter has the capability to produce a bright flash as they streak through the heavens above," said experts. "These bright meteors are what we call fireballs, and they often strike fear and awe for those who witness them."
