[UPDATE] In a follow-up report, due to U.S. Pres. Donald Trump's decision to let National Guards protect the White House from protesters, civil rights group barged in to sue him, as reported via The Guardian on Thursday, June 4.

"The death of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands of police officers has reignited the rage, pain and deep sadness our community has suffered for generations. We won't be silenced by teargas and rubber bullets. Now is our time to be heard."

The Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the law firm of Arnold & Porter filed the suit.

The United States White House went dark this late Sunday, May 31. George Floyd's protestors were still outside the building when the lights turned off. It was not said on the report whether the external lights were deliberately turned off or was caused by the several protestors setting fire on the prominent buildings around White House.
