The San Diego Comic-Con 2020 was initially canceled this April due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, last month, Comic-Con International has announced that it will be back and will be happening, but only virtually, this coming July.
SDCC is a well-known pop culture convention wherein TV series, movies, games, and more have panels that fans can attend.
Now, more information has been revealed about Comic-Con@Home, which is the online replacement of SDCC.
Comic-Con@Home is Happening This July
In a report by CNET, the online convention will be happening from July 22 to 26, and admission for the event as well as the various panels that will take place will be free.
Just like with past SDCC events, there will be panels for various movies, TV shows, comics, games, and a whole lot more that attendees could check out virtually at the comfort of their own homes.
It is still quite unclear if fans could interact with show creatives and actors and ask their questions.
There's also no news yet as to who will be on the panels, but fans can expect some of the biggest and upcoming shows will most likely have their own panel and that we can get some sneak peeks or new information.

No Lines and Completely Free
We might see some people from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially as Phase 4 will be commencing this year with Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson as the titular character whom we first saw in Avengers.
Most of the time, we also see new teasers and trailers of various TV shows, movies, and even games during SDCC, we could expect them to do the same this year despite everything happening virtually.
In addition, Comic-Con@Home will also have online exhibition halls wherein fans can buy limited-edition merchandise that is available from multiple exhibitors that will be in attendance.
According to GamesRadar, there are also gaming activities and a masquerade that will happen during the virtual comic convention.
More Information Coming Soon as Event Dates Draw Closer
Although we aren't yet aware of how long the coronavirus pandemic will continue, the 2021 San Diego Comic-Con will be back on its usual form at the San Diego Convention Center wherein attendees could meet and greet their favorite cosplayers, actors, game developers, and more.
For now, we'll have to do with a virtual set-up as the mass gathering is still prohibited from the coronavirus nature.
As the day draws closer, we will likely see more news about Comic-Con@Home, specifically the exhibitors, the panelists, and special guests that will be in attendance.
We will also most likely get more information on how to watch the panels and attend the virtual pop culture convention from the safety of our own homes.
The event was first teased last month with a short video that was posted on social media.San Diego Comic-Con has been running for 50 years, so to keep the tradition going, the organizers replaced it with a virtual event, something that tons of other events adopted after the continuous cases of COVID-19 in the United States and various countries across the world.
