Facebook has a new acquisition, and this time, it is with Ready At Dawn Studios, the makers of Lone Echo virtual reality game series, and the console games like The Order: 1888, Venture Beat reported.

The partnerships came on the same day Facebook Gaming announced it is accepting the transfer of viewers and streamers since Microsoft said it is shutting down the Mixer live streaming platform on July 22.

Now, Facebook is given more opportunities to offer social networking for gamers and virtual reality players on Oculus VR headsets.

Ready At Dawn Studios CEO Ru Weerasuriya said in a tweet, "Nearly 17 years ago, we embarked on a journey to build a game studio. Along the way, we innovated on genres, experiences, games and platforms. Today, we're excited to join the Facebook family as we open a new chapter in our story and continue to pursue our passions #WeAreRAD"

Advocate of VR

Facebook's AR/VR content vice-president Mike Verdu announced the deal today in a blog post. Verdu said the storytelling of Ready At Dawn combines with the innovation DNA seen in the full display of Lone Echo.

He added that it sets the standard for the narrative adventure in virtual reality, revealing how VR can provide players with experiences that are "immersive, memorable, and emotionally charged."

Ready At Dawn Studios is a known advocate of virtual reality and the Oculus platform on Facebook. Based in Irvine, California, Ready At Dawn began in console games and started shipping Sony's alternate history shooter in 2015, The Order: 1888.

However, the moment Facebook acquired Oculus and revealed the Rift VR headset, Ready At Dawn got into the spotlight of virtual reality gaming.

Being part of Oculus Studios, Ready At Dawn ensures its followers that it will continue making virtual reality content for gamers as an independently-owned and operated company. In the past, Oculus Studios also obtained Beat Games, the game maker of Beat Saber, as well as Sanzaru Games, the maker of Asgard's Wrath, the report added.

In the works

Right now, Ready At Dawn Studios is still working on Lone Echo II. Aside from making the best VR games, they also will feature VR movement mechanics with the debut of the locomotion system and full-body inverse kinematics of Ready At Dawn.

The studio has already prepared three titles for Oculus. These are Lone Echo, Echo Combat, and Echo Arena. The company masters the movement in zero gravity in space, and offering this reality for the players to see.
