iOS 14 is currently a thing for Apple users unless you've deliberately ignored the news. You might not have bothered to find out what was new in the current mobile operating system if you do not use an iPhone (or maybe even if you do).

While several of these iOS 14 features might make you feel new to Apple's iPhone users, the Android users would feel like you are. Here's a rundown of all the latest features Apple iOS 14 has by Google.

Widgets on the home screen

The boxed interactive elements from various applications and services Android users used for nearly twelve years finally reach the homescreen of the iPhone.

Apple has developed widgets for several of its own software, and with this release, it has also updated a few. As with Android, widgets are available in various sizes (just three for iOS: big, tiny, and medium). You can stack them together to swipe them apart. Note that you could previously get widgets on a mysterious Today View shelf to the left of your home screen by swiping to it.

As for Android, widgets are available in different sizes and can be stacked between them, just three of them (small, medium, and large) for iOS. There is also a "Smart Stack" widget that claims to offer the widgets you need automatically at the right time and locations.

These last two information are actually very interesting, and Google will probably consider bringing something to Android.

Less intrusive call notifications

Your screen will not eventually be taken up by all phone calls and FaceTime calls on iOS 14. You will be able to see the calls come in, either finish what you do or reject it without being distressed, rather than letting it interrupt everything you're doing.

With spam phone calls being such a major problem, every call interruption would be less annoying for ages.

Wind Down mode

In any case, the functionality is much the same, transforming your phone into a Don't Disturb mode, and encouraging you by "Various actions" to relax before sleeping.

Apple has been unable to change the latest iOS Wind Down mode, while Google has since transformed its version into a so-called "bedtime mode." The version of Google supports stuff like grayscale, and Apple may have something similar in the future. However, Google's latest version took a desirable feature, which is only activated once it charges in the evening.

Apple Translate

Apple only calls the app "Translate," but other features almost explicitly seems to be taken from the translate software of Google. It does not seem as if it's in real-time like Google's app does, but it's going to have a chat mode that looks like Google's and supports on-device translation like Google.

Of course, the edition of Apple is limited at launch to only 11 languages. It's been beaten by Google by a magnitude.
