You must have probably heard about the bad things that the hacktivist Anonymous group and India said against the Chinese video-sharing app, TikTok. They warn that the app should be deleted from anyone's phones now. If you're already connected with the app, you must not like to delete it right away. Here's an alternative, though. Coming straight from Facebook's sister app, Instagram.

TikTok alternative that is not made in China

A lot of apps replicate the popular Chinese video-sharing app, TikTok. Even Instagram actually made a copycat of the app. Late June, Instagram announced a new app called 'Reels' that has the same functionality as TikTok.

It allows users to record a 15-second video clip, with music and other audios you prefer to put in your video. Just like TikTok, Instagram's 'Reels' creates a platform for a video to become viral.

"We're planning to start testing an updated version of Reelsin more countries. Reels is a fun, creative way for people to both express themselves and be entertained. We're excited to bring this new version to more of our global community. No further plans to share on launch date or countries for now," a Facebook spokesperson told Business Insider.

In Nov, Brazil was the first country that made early access to the feature. Then follows France and Germany and other countries. One of the included markets, however, is China's rival-- which is India.

What happened to TikTok?

If you remember, on June 29, India banned 59 apps in their country that said to pose national threats to the nation's security. One of the apps that were banned was a popular teen Chinese video-sharing app, TikTok.

Since then, the market sales of TikTok shown huge losses. It was estimated that over $6 billion are expected to be taken away from the ByteDance-- developer of the app. India was one of its main markets in the world, so it does affect TikTok with huge repercussions.

TikTok has made its popularity in a surprising way, years ago. Until now, the app continues to beat other video-sharing apps in the world but it doesn't seem to last for the next years to come.

On July 3, Tech Times reported that infamous hacktivist group Anonymous supported the claim that TikTok was not a friendly app, but rather a 'Chinese malware' that must be deleted.

"Delete TikTok now; if you know someone that is using it explain to them it is essentially malware operated by the Chinese government running a massive spying operation," tweeted by Anonymous group.
