Kojima Productions' highly-applauded game Death Stranding has finally arrived on PC after months of being a PS4 exclusive, making it more accessible to more fans of the open-world game.

For those who weren't able to get Death Stranding on PS4 and would like to try the game now that it's out on PC, you can purchase the game via Steam and Epic Games Store.

How to Fix Black Bars in Ultrawide Resolution

However, most PC players have found a problem that hasn't been fixed yet via a patch.

According to Gamepur, fans who are playing on a 21:9 ratio or the Ultrawide resolution would see tiny black bars on the left and right side of the screen, which could be annoying for some people who want to get a more immersive experience offered by the desolate, post-apocalyptic setting of the game, especially as it's the biggest feature offered for the PC version.

Of course, you can leave it and wait until KojiPro decides to fix it with an update, but you can also easily resolve it.

One thing you would need is to install the HxD, which is the only software you would need for this issue.

After downloading and installing the software, open it and then click File and open ds.exe, then press Ctrl+R and then go to "Hex values." Next, click on the Search Direction "All" and type 55 55 15 40 in Search for.

You can then replace with Hex value of your Resolution's Aspect Ratio, with the most common values including:

  • 6880×2880 = 8E E3 18 40
  • 5120×1440 = 39 8E 63 40
  • 5120×2160 = 26 B4 17 40
  • 3840×1080 = 39 8E 63 40
  • 3840×1620 = 26 B4 17 40
  • 3840×1440 = AB AA 2A 40
  • 3840×1600 = 9A 99 19 40
  • 3440×1440 = 8E E3 18 40
  • 2560×1080 = 26 B4 17 40

Choose Replace All after you have done the step and then save the changes you have made. Then, you can check if the issue has been resolved and play Death Stranding with its promised Ultrawide resolution support.

CD Projekt Red's Tribute to Hideo Kojima

With the release of Death Stranding on PC, CD Projekt Red, the developers of the upcoming and highly-anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 congratulated legendary game developer Hideo Kojima and his team with one neat homage.

According to PCGamer, the developers posted an image on the game's official Twitter account showing Hideo Kojima as a character from the action-RPG game along with the caption congratulating the game developer and his team for the release of Death Stranding's PC port.

Will the Character be on the Game?

As it turns out, the art was based on the photo of the legendary game maker when he visited the game's Tokyo Game Show booth and posed on a replica of one of the game's stylish motorbikes.

Kojima was also one of the first people who saw the game when he visited the company in 2018 for an exclusive first look at Cyberpunk 2077.

Although the art is cool, it's not clear whether Kojima's doppelganger will appear on the game for a nice cameo, but fans have to wait until Sept. 17 of this year to see if he does make an appearance.
