Two men whom the media called "daredevils" have filmed themselves on the tallest buildings and skyscrapers in Auckland, but the police stopped their actions in no time, 1 News reported

Is it to gain attention? These men were reportedly filming themselves at 178 meters from the ground at the Pacifica building in downtown Auckland. Pacifica tower is the second tallest in the area.

However, the police did not waste time and slammed what they did, indicating that they were putting their lives at risk, and also of the lives of others. People who might watch the video can anytime mimic their actions.

The video had a caption that showcases them being "fearless." The video showed the two men walking on top of the structure, and dangling from the scaffolding. It is reminiscent of a scene in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy where The Joker dangles from the building, mocking the caped crusader.

The caption read, "I wish I could describe the complexity and process of becoming fearless. Danger might be real but fear is a choice, all of the fears we don't face quickly become our limits."

The caption, coincidental as it may sound, seemingly sounded like Joker's statements from the movie.

Parallels

In the Batman story, the Joker and his adventures with the main character tackled on themes of conquering fear, as the hero itself was a fearful person during his childhood. In the Nolan film, the Joker, portrayed by Heath Ledger, was seen hanging from a building, saying, "Madness as you know, is like gravity all it takes is a little push."

Surprisingly, one of the men in Auckland said and warned users not to watch the video "if you have anxiety."

Mixed reactions

The video has received mixed reactions on social media since the time it was released. There were few who had fun, and supported them, while others condemned their action.

A netizen on Instagram wrote, "Love you bro so don't you dare let go."

Another user posted, "Nope, nope, nope".

The police warned these men to stop doing these acts, threatening arrests or worse should they continue on. They said, "Anyone carrying out this activity is not only putting their own lives and others at risk but also risk getting arrested."

The project head behind the tower, Liz Scott, said that the company is distancing itself from the stunts, and even passed the questions over to the builder on how the men were able to get into the building.

Scott said that the media must speak to Dan Ashby, the construction lead of the skyscraper. Ashby said, "The site team have appropriate security measures in place, including full time night security on-site and a lock-up procedure. We do not yet know how that was breached and are currently investigating to identify when and how it happened."
