Elon Musk finally revealed his famous Neuralink brain chip on Friday, Aug. 28. However, it was delayed for more than 30 minutes, leaving 100,000 people waiting for the big reveal.

In a Tweet, Tesla's CEO said that Neuralink would show neurons firing in real-time by Aug. 28, and he kept his promise. The experiment implanted the chips into the brains of three pigs, which Elon Musk called "the three little pig's demo."

The audience saw the  brain activity of Gertrude, the animal involved in the study when she snuffed around her pen. After the animal experiment, Elon Musk is now appealing to human volunteers. The latest version of the chip was also revealed, which was redesigned to have a large coin size.

Once it is connected to the brain, it will attach to wires that replace a piece of the human skull.

"It's like a Fitbit in your skull," described Elon Musk during the live stream.

"It goes flush on your skull. I could have a Link right now and you wouldn't know. Maybe I do," he added.

Although the public expected Neuralink to be implanted into a human being, the experiment's results suggested that the brain chip could soon allow humans to control smartphones and computers with their minds.

The high-tech sewing robot was also unveiled in the livestream

During the presentation, the "sewing" robot was also unveiled, implanting Neuralink in just 30 minutes without anesthesia. The machine allows the patients to leave the hospital on the same day the chip was implanted.

Elon Musk claimed that the future would be weird since people can save and replay their memories. He explained that humans could store their memories as a backup and download them into a robot body or even a new human body.

The sewing robot can remove small chunks of skull and link the thread-like electrodes to specific parts of the brain. However, Musk only revealed little information about what the public should expect once the brain chip is ready for human use.
