The controversial dispute between Apple and Epic Games resulted in Fortnite's ban on the App Store and other titles from the developer being removed; however, despite Fortnite's ban and removal, 'Sign-in with Apple' is still widely available for users to utilize for log-ins. Apple's latest statement of removing the sign-in process on September 11 is seemingly rebuked.

The on-going legal battle between Apple and Epic Games for Fortnite's direct payment scheme took quite a heavy toll on the developer but continues to fight against the tech giant. Fortnite suffered the most in Apple's iron fist of removing the game, causing mobile gamers to cease in both iOS and Android platforms.

According to End Gadget, Apple announced on September 9 that the 'Sign-in with Apple' option on Fortnite would not be available come September 11. However, users and even Epic Games, who closely monitors the decision, saw an extension for users who linked their game log-ins to Apple's App Store and servers.

Apple's decision and the announcement will prompt users to migrate their account data to Epic Games' native log-in using an account made on its website. Apple understands that game data will be lost and the progress, level, rank, and even the in-app purchases users have worked on.

Apple's Indefinite Extension

The extension made by Apple considers the wide variety of users who used Apple's Game Center and log-in credentials with their Apple accounts. Epic Games does not know or was not updated by Apple regarding an extension but considers this move as 'indefinite' and will be rebuked anytime.

Apple's user-centric move focuses on giving users an extension for their game data but not for Epic Games. The most valuable tech company in the world still would not let Epic Games and Fortnite back into iOS and mobile gaming despite the extension efforts.

Epic Games still faces doom on Fortnite's future on mobile platforms because of the 88-12 split revolution that favors developers to earn more. Apple's terms and conditions are not favorable for Epic with the initial 70-30 profit shares.

Apple recently made a move that favors Tencent's Player's Unknown Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG Mobile) after Epic's retaliation with the Nineteen-Eighty-Fortnite video posted on YouTube.

Epic Games' forum contains a new post that urges users to switch log-ins as early as now to get ahead of Apple's indefinite extension that may rebuke the 'Sign-in with Apple' option anytime. Epic Games says that it recommends users to prepare their accounts to remove the option and go with Epic's email log-in option.

The developer notes that the transition is easy. Just log-in to Epic Games' website, particularly in the General Settings page, using the Apple ID and update the email to the preferred new log-in credentials.

Users will be asked of a security code that they will find on their email inbox and use for verification of the new email credentials they wish to use.
