Tesla has been getting really competitive with its price droppings as the recent Model S has reached an all-time-low price point of only $69,420. When asked on Twitter when the upcoming Model Y, which is expected to be a 7-seater, is expected to roll out, Elon Musk replied that it will start production next month and the initial deliveries will start in December.

Tesla's battery day announcements

Tesla has been announcing big plans this year with the recent battery day promising to upgrade the future of Electric Vehicles by making them cheaper and more efficient. To do so, they have to be easier to manufacture and what Elon Musk plans is to apply the "airplane" method to manufacturing. According to an article by The Verge, Tesla aims to roll out a $25K car!

Since airplanes need to carry a lot of fuel, the fuel is evenly distributed around its body even to its wings making the whole car an actual fuel tank. This is something that Tesla wants to apply to its cars. Instead of fuel, Tesla wants its batteries to be properly utilized and installed in certain parts of the car itself.

This way, production becomes much easier while the car might even be able to hold more electricity. This is all in the future but with the new Gigafactories sprouting out as well as Tesla research centers, it can be seen that the company is pushing towards this direction.

What can be expected of the upcoming Tesla Model Y

According to an article by Electrek, during the previous Model Y teardown, Sandy Munro actually believes that he has found substantial evidence that Tesla might be adding a few interesting built-in features just like the rear-facing third row.

It is currently still unclear what the actual production version of the upcoming Model Y 7-seater will actually look like, but Tesla has definitely been looking at the whole rear-facing seats as of recent.

Tesla actually used to keep on the rear-facing seat for the Model S as an option, and the popular automaker has also more recently talked about bringing back the whole rear-facing seats that could be big enough to fit more adults in the Model S.

Elon Musk did not actually say when Tesla specifically plans to open its doors to orders for the whole Model Y 7-seater, but it is still expected to be quite soon if the deliveries are said to start in just less than two months.

It is said that once Tesla actually opens the whole configurator for the brand new version of the Model Y, the final design regarding the third row will then be revealed.
