"The Red Lantern" focuses on a solo action-adventure game that revolves around "The Musher" who ventures the unknown to get away from her previous life that she grew fed with. "The Musher" escapes her life with her only pet dog to the non-stop snowy mountains of Alaska, living in her friend's cabin among the wild.

The game offers a fully-immersive storytelling adventure of "The Musher" and her pet dog to survive the year-round winter season of the Alaskan country. The main character usually monologues in the game to explain the plot and story to the players. The game is set in the first-person point-of-view (POV), with players embodying the sole-adventurer, "The Musher."

"The Musher" has one companion dog that joins the story's early days. After venturing to give up her medical school dreams, she decides to be a "dog-sledding" adventurer in the mountains and adopts four out of the eight choices of dogs in the game. After the adoption, the player would have five dogs in total to help in everyday living and practice dog-sledding.

The Red Lantern: How to Survive and Make the Most Out of the Gameplay

The title is set on the narrative by "The Musher", but players can still maximize the experience by making the game one's own. Despite the set storyline and plot of the game, most of the daily processes will always be under the user's discretion and choice.

Explore the Terrain

The game starts rapidly, and a player would find themselves venturing the Alaskan mountains already in the cabin of "The Musher's" friend, along with her loyal and most trusty companion. The game may seem overwhelming to try out every adventure or activity in the wildlife, but it is equally important to learn the terrain and place.

Map out the game to explore and get to know the place the main character would spend her days on mostly. The game's snowy mountain is easy to get lost in, with the landscape showing the sharp white and never-ending snow.

Hunt and Scavenge to Survive

Being in wildlife means that there would be no groceries or food markets to get one's supplies. From firewood, water, and food to eat, the player would gather it all. The survival in this survival-themed game stands for what it is. Hunger and temperature levels should always be monitored, along with other threats in the wild.

"The Musher" should not be the only one to gain experience, but also her team of doggos that would obey her orders as the wild tests the team's survival. Many threats and risks posed to the players and would even kill them. Dogs can prove useful to survival and easy escapes using the sleds.
