Facebook recently launched a cloud-based gaming application that will let people play full version games without the hassle of downloading it from the online application stores and worrying about storage capacities. The cloud gaming service was initially proposed by Google, Microsoft, and Amazon, who proposed a launch this October 2020.

The evolution of gaming is here with Facebook's launch of its cloud gaming services which aims to provide a platform where mobile gaming can launch from the online platform through internet and data connections. The revolutionary advantage of cloud gaming somewhat bypasses the systems requirement of every game that is under the company's cloud services.

Cloud Gaming: Facebook Joins Google and Microsoft Platform

Massive technology companies were the first to give birth to the idea of cloud gaming and launch their very own platforms for the world's gamers to utilize. Google's Stadia is one of the most well-known cloud gaming services that tie-up with famous publishers and developers such as Activision, Blizzard, 2K Sports, etc.

Microsoft also offers cloud gaming on its online services called "xCloud," primarily lining it up with the company's popular gaming platform, the Xbox. Microsoft's cloud gaming services centers on both mobile and PC platforms, offering various games from the company's library such as Mojang's Minecraft, Halo, Forza Racing, etc.

Facebook's only edge among its predecessors on cloud gaming services is that the social media company offers its services for free. Most Facebook games in the cloud platform are free-to-play mobile games for Android devices and the web. Premium and paid apps will soon come, according to Facebook, and will expand the games library that is currently available on the platform.

Facebook Went Ahead Amazon Luna: Cloud Gaming Service, Soon Launching

Social media and technology company Facebook went ahead of Jeff Bezos' highly-anticipated and publicity-rich release of its cloud gaming services. Amazon Luna is the e-commerce website's take on internet gaming with its massive hints and teases this year and announcement last September 24.

The e-commerce company is planning to launch the cloud gaming services this month. However, Amazon remains lull and silent with Luna's release, having only a few days before the spooky season ends. Facebook's surprising cloud gaming launch earlier today might be a hindrance for Amazon.

Facebook's cloud gaming already launched and requires people to download a new application that would launch the games from. Having the social media app is not enough, with Facebook dedicating a new application solely intended for gaming.

According to Facebook's Blogpost, the company is still testing out the user experience and the cloud services' version to see what is needed to be configured and upgraded. The company also states that it will add games one by one to expand the library, starting with next week's "Dirt Bike Unchained" by Red Bull Games.
