Lego has recently unveiled its largest set yet - a 9,036-piece Roman Colosseum for Lego Creator experts.
This new build topples the limited edition Star Wars Millennium Falcon's over 7,500 bricks in the largest set. While it is larger than the Falcon, the Colosseum is cheaper at $549.99. It will be released on November 27 in time for Back Friday, although Lego Creator Expert VIP members can already pre-order the set as early as November 21 through the Lego website.

LEGO Colosseum designer Rok Zgalin Kobe said the set deviates from the original scale to visually boast its colossal size. Overall, the Colosseum measures 52cm wide and 27cm high with depth of 59cm.
The set has an oval base, so it can be displayed in any way and seen from all angles. Builders can show the North Walls facing out or leave the Colosseum's crumbled part outwards. Also, builders can install decorative volutes using an upside-down recolored skate element or roller as well as try different building techniques.
This meticulously recreated Roman amphitheater has went beyond the façade as it Lego even included all the 80 spectator stand 'ribs,' which is similar to the actual structure. It features three stories of the Colosseum, which are uniquely adorned with columns of the Corinthian, Ionic, and Doric orders. Lego would even let users to mimic the actual building process in which the wooden arena will built in the final phase as it was in real life.

This remarkably huge LEGO brick set would surely keep the builders busy for hours or even days. It will be available on sale on Black Friday on November 27. Lego also offers a limited VIP offer for its VIP members who would first order the Colosseum set as they would also get limited edition Roman Chariot. They can display the Chariot beside the Colosseum.
Kobe explained that rendering the "Colosseum's monumentality" in LEGO bricks is one of the most important things and biggest challenges they had in the design process. "I felt that the LEGO model should display a special architectural feature of the original," Kobe said in press statement.

To create such epic outcome, the model is built using vertical exaggeration in which the cross-section is steeper than the original structure. "Hopefully, people will be inspired to learn more about the original through the experience of building the LEGO model," added Kobe.

For more than three years, the Star Wars Millennium Falcon Set has been holding the title for Lego's largest set with 7,541 bricks. It measures 56cm wide, 21cm high, and 84cm long.

It was initially sold at $799.99 as part of Lego's Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Series. It was released in the market on October 1, 2017, although VIP members got it earlier on September 14, 2017.
This intricate model makes it rewarding to build for both Lego and Star Wars fans. The LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon has seven landing legs and a boarding ramp which can be lowered to welcome the crew. The Millennium Falcon set also features a gunnery station seat, a removable hull panel with quad laser canon, and two escape pod hatches.
With four classic Star Wars: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO as well as three Episode VII/VIII minifigures, builders can interchange the crew and sensor dish to convert the build from classic Millennium Falcon to Episode VII spacecraft.
