Moderna Inc has recently stated that it was informed by the official European Medicine Agency or EMA that certain documents that were related to the pre-submission talks of its own COVID-19 vaccine candidate were said to be unlawfully accessed in a cyberattack on the known medicines regulator. This meant that information regarding the Moderna COVID vaccine have been accessed by hackers.

Moderna COVID vaccine compromised

According to the story by Reuters, the EMA is responsible for assessing both medicines and vaccines coming from the known European Union. They stated earlier this month that they had become the target of a particular cyberattack that granted hackers access to certain documents that were related to the development of the Pfizer COVID vaccine.

Moderna has stated that its submission to the EMA actually did not include any information that identified certain individual study participants. It was also stated that there is no information as of present that any of these participants have also been identified in any given way.

Pfizer COVID vaccine administered

The Pfizer COVID vaccine has reportedly launched and is already being administered but only in its early stages. The Moderna COVID vaccine, on the other hand, is still on its way and has not been administered to the public just yet.

According to an article by ABCnews, the rollout of the very first coronavirus vaccine started on Monday morning and this marked a huge turning point for the United States' battle against the ever surging number of cases. The first doses of the known Pfizer COVID vaccine was administered to both health care workers as well as nursing home staffers.

Who was the first to get the Pfizer COVID vaccine

A particular Sandra Lindsey, who is a critical care nurse hailing from the Northwell Long Island Jewish Medical Center was reportedly the very first person to be vaccinated in New York at exactly 9:23AM. This was done in a particular livestream event that showed the world the very first COVID vaccine administration.

Lindsay reportedly lives in Queens which is currently known as one of the hardest hit counties in the entire country. She stated that she wanted to become the first to instill trust in the given vaccine.

Mississippi COVID vaccine

She gave a statement during the livestream saying she believes in science and as a nurse, her practice is reportedly guided by science and this is why she trusts that. She then noted that what she does not trust is if she contracted COVID. She also noted that she does not know how this would impact those who she comes in contact with and this is why she encourages everyone to take the current vaccine.

Other elected officials as well as state health leaders hailing from different states which include Iowa, Connecticut, California, and Florida have all welcomed the shipments of the first shots that came in on Monday. According to Dr. Thomas Dobbs, the state health officer of Mississippi stated in a Tweet that the first COVID vaccination over in MS is as he described as "proud and privileged."
