Google's new feature now allows its users to try makeup on without going out in an actual store! The search engine giant's new AR shopping feature enables you to try different makeup products, not only on various models but also on your own face.

According to The Verge's latest report, Google announced the latest feature in its new blog post. What's great about this feature is that you can use it to try popular brands such as MAC, BLK/OPL, L'Oreal, and more! 

Yahoo Finance explained that Google's new ability works just like an Instagram or Snapchat filter, which allows you to change your appearance with virtual makeup. 
The filters can use different shades of lipstick or eyeshadow. This just shows how far AR or augment reality reached. 

How Google's new feature works

Google partners with top brands, such as Estee Lauder, MAC Cosmetics, Black Opal, Charlotte Tilbury, L'Oreal, and more to bring its AR-powered cosmetics try-on experience on Google Search to life. 

This allows users to try on makeup shades across a range of models with various skin tones, showing that it doesn't if you are black, white, or Asian. All people can try it, which is a really great innovation. 

If you want to check if the product really fits you, you can use your front cam so that your face will be the one displayed in the feature. 

How to use it  

The new feature simply works by searching the product on Google's search bar. They'll see the option displayed at the top of their search results. 

Once you see it, all you need to do is to click through photos of models representinga range of skin tone. This wil help you compare the shades and find the right product for you. 

You can also see use your device's camera to see yourself as your test subject. In this interface, you'll see different shades of various makeup product, which is located at the bottom of the camera feed. You can use it by simply clicking the camera feed, just how you use a social media filter.
