The famous South Korean car manufacturing giant, Hyundai, is gearing up for a busy 2021 for its next-generation innovation of an electric vehicle for the public to use and experience. Hyundai's IONIQ namesake would be the company's line of electric vehicles, having a suffix of the model variant with the IONIQ5 being one of the earliest reveals from the company. The IONIQ5 is an E-CUV or an electric crossover utility vehicle, meaning that it would be somewhere between a sedan and an SUV.

According to the Web Archive tool extracted from Hyundai, IONIQ5's reservation and the pre-ordering page has surfaced before deleting the website listing for people to see. Speculations surrounding the electric vehicle's launch and unveiling would be in early 2021, before mellowing down for production and release in the succeeding year of 2022.

The initial pre-orders were posted on Hyundai's Austria market website and said that the new electric vehicle would only have an initial and exclusive 150 units to be made, having a delivery date of either June or July 2021. However, this timeline differs from Hyundai's announcement of having the IONIQ5 in 2022, which may actually mean that it is for the wide public release.
