Despite PlayStation 5 launching over a month ago and the holidays have come and passed, tons of gamers are still unable to get their hands on Sony's next-gen console due to the lack of stocks in major retailers, who are only making PS5 available through their online shops.

PS5 Restock Tracker on Twitter

To get the coveted console, many are using various PS5 restock trackers and bots to know which retailers have stocks of the console and alerting fans as soon as restocks drop.

However, it seems like one of the best ways to snag a console is through Spiel Times, a Twitter-based PS5 inventory tracker that streams daily drop times, according to Inverse

To further help gamers get their own units, the people behind the Twitter account shared some tips on how to track down an available PlayStation 5--and their first tip? Stop spreading hate and verbally abusing the PS5 tracking community.

Although it can be frustrating to follow all major retailers for a chance to get a PS5 and still not getting one, hating on the community and fellow consumers will not get you a console, so Spiel Times encourages everyone to stay calm and then follow the community's advice, tips, and best practices to finally get a unit.

Tips on How to Get a PS5

Moreover, the team also spilled that waiting for Walmart and Best Buy to drop some stocks is the best choice when you want to get a console for its retail price since it turns out that other retailers have restocks randomly.

Meanwhile, gamers can also follow Sony Direct as they often do PS5 drops from Tuesdays to Fridays.

If you follow Spiel Times on Twitter, they would post with a [DROP] tag in case restocks arrive.

However, if you do have some more money to spend to guarantee a PS5, it's better to find trusted reselling sites such as StockX, but as much as possible, the team recommends getting a PS5 from a retailer to avoid scalpers.

But if you can't wait and have found a trusted reselling site, make sure you only transact via PayPal invoices so you can have your money refunded much easier in case things don't go the way it should.

The team also advised that if you are asked for Venmo or Zelle, you should "run away."

Helping Fellow Gamers

When asked why the team is tracking down PS5 restocks, Spiel Times said that the console doesn't have a release date where they are yet, which is in India, so they decided to help those in the United States and Europe find their own consoles.

According to the team, most of the people joining their community are parents, significant others, and grandparents, among others, who are looking for a PS5 to surprise their loved ones.

If you want to get a better shot at owning a PS5, you can follow the PS5 inventory tracker on Twitter as well as major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Gamestop, Amazon, and of course, Sony Direct.

The PS5 standard version retails at $499 while the Digital Only version is available at $399.
