Apple announced a recall of an estimated 432,000 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops due to concerns of overheating batteries that could catch fire. The recall is for 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops sold between September 2015 and February 2017.

The most valuable technology company is owning up to their mistakes, with Apple Support's recently released statement that lets old MacBook Pro users know that it would fix the display for free, provided that it fits the profile. Users of the 13-inch MacBook Pro released from October 2016 until February 2018 are eligible for the fix covered by Apple.

Not only that, but it would also refund the charges that were paid by its customers with the repair of the display which initially costed the customer as they brought their laptops to the Apple store to fix the issue. According to Mac Rumors, Apple discovered that the flex cable that connects light and display is the issue which they discovered and fixed long ago.

According to Apple Support's recently released statement, a "very small" percentage of 13-inch MacBook Pro releases from late 2016 to early 2018 were affected by the issue, and has launched a program to fix it. The Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro Backlight Service Program was created to address the issue and let people know that it was a production fault on their part.

There are various indicators that the backlight of the MacBook Pro was affected and it should either have vertical black lines or dark spots that cover the screen or shut off the screen entirely. Apple said that the repair would be free of charge, giving the display a new flex cable that is now extended to 2 millimeters, which is known to fix the issue.
